When Brian Cox turned 16 he didn't ask his parents for a new car. Instead, he asked for a horse. "Crystal," the Quarter Horse that became Brian's car, had western pleasure in its blood. As it turned out, so did Brian.

Instead of attending college to receive a typical degree, Brian decided to go to the University of Findlay. It only took being at Findlay a year for Brian to understand that his passion was horses, and his profession needed to be the same.

Ty Hornick saw the talent in Brian. For three and a half years, Brian perfected his skills under the watchful eye of the NSBA Hall of Famer.

With this experience under his buckle, Brian traveled down to Florida to ride world class pleasure horses for Mary Roberts Quarter Horses. There, Greg Wheat became his new tutor and bestowed his own skills onto Brian.

After two years in Florida, it was time for Brian to return to his roots. Brian took over the assistant trainer position for Randy Wilson Quarter Horses in Ohio. With Randy, Brian got the opportunity to ride Congress Champions and Reserve World Champions for over two years.

With the support and encouragement of the Sidwell Family, Brian opened up his own business, Brian Cox Quarter Horses, in 2004. Located in Mt. Perry, Ohio, Brian specializes in the development of pleasure horse champions.

It didn't take Brian long to create a name for himself. In 2005, he captured the trophy that most horse trainers dream about, but never touch. Riding "Blazin N Crystal," Brian took home the bronze in the GMC 2 Year Old Snaffle Bit Western Pleasure at the All American Quarter Horse Congress.

Behind the scenes, Brian counts on Allie, his good friend and biggest fan. He realizes that, although he can cowboy-up the toughest horses, keeping an eye on the details of the business are not his specialty. It is Allie's unwavering support to him and his business that Brian is eternally grateful for.

Brian has already come a long way. The young cowboy that grew up riding trail horses in Union City, Ohio, has become a respected horse trainer in the ultra-competitive industry of western pleasure horses.
